Baldwin will showcase for the first time the Guardian RTM, a new real-time quality monitoring and reporting tool for the Guardian PQV advanced 100 percent print inspection. Guardian RTM uses a central server to monitor, collect, and display real-time inspection data for multiple presses and jobs—and even across multiple plants—on a simple, uncluttered dashboard user interface. Hemant Desai of Baldwin says, “Guests to our stand will have a first look at some truly exciting new technical achievements. These are some early examples that show — by combining engineering talent and resources — we can take our proven technology to a whole new level. BVS colour management and defect management systems already have a strong presence in North America and Europe, and we are eager to feature these automated solutions in India.”

On BST’s booth, visitors can experience live demonstrations of TubeScan 100% defect detection system for narrow web applications. With 10 installations in India, TubeScan promises process reliability with the base function digital strobe as it delivers steady images and true colour representation irrespective of the web speed. According to BST, the operator can keep full control over the entire production, even during critical phases like makeready time and start/stop.

The E+L’s stand has three focal points: Elscan OMS3, Compact corona generator CG9020L and Kelva web cleaning system. The Elscan OMS3 is an entry-level web print monitoring system for narrow webs up to 700 mm. It features DualView camera technology with two 5MP camera combined in one housing. The corona generator CG9020L is compact. It is suitable for integration into label and cup printing machines. The Kelva web cleaning system uses contact of polymer rollers with the web surface from the top and bottom side to make the web clean before printing. All this plus a wide array of web handling tools at E+L.

This Italian manufacturer will enlighten the label converters about the advantages of using automatic ink dispensing system. Shashi Nair of Inkmaker says, instant colour reproduction, absolute accuracy up to one gram, production of light quantity, major stock reduction, improved stock-management, optimised recycle-management, elimination of waste, management of return ink and increased free space in the factory are some of key benefits of automatic ink dispensers.

During corona treatment, high-concentration ozone is produced, which is harmful to human health and to the environment. This is what IEEC’s new offering Ozonash will tackle. The Ozonash is an ozone destruction unit, which converts ozone into oxygen. It uses a highly efficient metal oxide catalyst and pre-filter combination to reduce ozone to air. It comes in very handy where conducting ozone out of the building through duct pipes is a challenge. It uses a differential pressure gauge to monitor pressure between filter stages and catalyst reduction stage. The Ozonash will come in a capacity to treat up to 400 CFM of ozone. IEEC will also launch a Lab Corona Treater, which is designed for research and test laboratories and low volume production. This apparatus is very useful to ensure adhesion of inks, glues and coatings on substrates.

Pantec will display its flatbed hot foil embossing system Rhino IIS and its rotary high-speed hologram and lens insetting systems Swift and Cheetah. With its latest enhancements, Rhino is suited for high-end labels in spirits and wine.  According to Pantec, the market for these labels shows an increasing demand for higher numbers of foil effects and decoration technologies. This requires higher multi-stroke performance of multi-effect decoration systems to ensure an economic single pass production in future.

A labeller, Sanjeev Atre of PGI Technologies turned manufacturer has produced the first indigenous magnetic cylinders in India. Since then PGI has developed its own anilox rolls, cutting and stamping machines, finishing equipment as well as a flexo press. At this show, PGI will launch a label inspection system, which Atre says is, 100% accurate. Offered at an extremely competitive price, the device can printed labels for print defects like missing labels, missing text, shade variation in tolerance range, missing registration, imperfect matrix peeling, die-cut registration, and unwanted images. The system can handle inspection on clear and metallised substrates as well.

ReGuard is Re Equipments’s video inspection for 100% print inspection on the narrow web that, RE Equipment guarantees, a 100% control of defects regardless of the kind of film to process, its width, the machine speed and the appearance of the material. RE Equipment says its guarantee is based on the parameters that it provides a livescan of images and real-time of quick zoom and alarm for repeated errors, which ensures high levels of quality. Plus there is an easy set-up and a touch monitor which helps production processes and converting operations maximising yield, productivity, and quality.

RotoMetrics will bring its latest launch, the RotoRepel, also the 2018 finalist for the award for innovation from the Label Industry Global Awards. The no-stick treatment design to solve the toughest adhesive challenge, it is available on solid on solid (new and resharpened) and flexible dies. It features an exclusive technology and formulation, which Rotometrics claims, minimises adhesive pick-up and transfer. Additionally, new RotoRepel TM Rx formulation is compliant with US FDA regulations and is safe for intended use in the conversion of parts, devices and labels, which means it’s safe for food contact applications.

Shandilya will showcase its improved Aniclean, an ultrasonic anilox cleaning machine, and Dotclean, a flexo letterpress plate cleaning machine. Launched at Labelexpo India 2010, the Aniclean, Shandilya claims it was the first indigenously developed anilox cleaning machine. It improved at every Labelexpo show and has 100 installations in India and neighbouring countries. At this show, Shandilya will showcase a new Anilox sleeve cleaning machine, with the ability to clean two sleeves at a time. The Dotclean was launched at the 2016 show in India and will be seen with new features. It has notched 30 installations so far.

Get set for some bar performance. No it is not the wine and dines kind, but the static and dust kind while producing labels. It can cause high amount of rejections. Meech Static Eliminators’ Hyperion SmartControl, is the company latest innovation in connectivity technology. Shavo, which represents Meech in India, says, “It delivers easy, accessible equipment monitoring at all times, from either a computer, tablet or mobile phone,” says Ravi Shinde of the company.

What’s new at Tresu stand is the new Tresu FlexiPrint Reservoir Saveink chamber doctor blade for narrow web flexo applications up to 800mm wide. With an integrated high-capacity reservoir, the Tresu Saveink chamber doctor blade is ideal for process and spot colours as well as high ink transfer printing, without the need for a connected pump. It is sealed and locks into place in seconds without the risk of spilling or ink contamination. Its doctor blades are in fixed, pre-set positions and require no further adjustment: optimal contact is made with the anilox roll, minimising wear.

The Japanese company will be debuting its latest resin thermal transfer ribbon at the show. It will demonstrate the fine printing capabilities of the ribbon flexible packaging, particularly the closer to the edge kinds. The company claims its ribbon’s print quality is finest and crystal clear.
