Kodak had earlier announced an expanded collaboration with Microsoft, PrintVis and VPress to add more features to the existing Prinergy On Demand Business Solutions.

The company has confirmed with PrintWeek that the new updates, which encompass know-how from PrintVis and VPress to its scalable Prinergy On Demand subscription platform, have been made available to India users as well.

Tapan Paul, business development manager – KSD, national manager - service, India cluster, Kodak told PrintWeek, “Since these solutions are on a scalable cloud-based platform, both small to large print houses can realise the benefits.”

“Print houses looking to drive efficiencies and automation through an end-to-end software solution should look to Kodak,” Paul added.

However, he said engagement with the customers is ongoing with regards to the roll-out. He also clarified that the new solutions have separate licenses from the Prinergy Workflow.

According to Paul, the Prinergy Workflow helps drive business with the help of data collected from the customer and reported through Decision Analytics and Kodak’s ink and plate usage services.

“Once the customer looks into data trends, it helps them take corrective action to reduce cost, use resources properly, identify pain points and take corrective action, and can even help customers take future business decisions – smartly,” Paul explained.

Kodak’s Prinergy On Demand business solutions, which is hosted on the Microsoft Azure platform, is said to provide scalable, automated, end-to-end solutions that cover requirements from order to cash and procurement to pay.

Prinergy On Demand solutions combine full-featured Office, CRM, ERP and MIS functionality with collaboration solutions, web-to-print and the Prinergy On Demand production workflow in a single fully-integrated cloud-based solutions platform. According to Kodak, the Azure platform provides security and the highest levels of availability.

Kodak has also enhanced the software with industry-specific analytics and AI capabilities, and takes care of integration, IT administration and ongoing maintenance through real-time Managed Services. The print-specific ERP/MIS component based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central came from PrintVis while VPress contributed advanced web-to-print, eCommerce storefront and VDP authoring functionality.
