Kerala floods: KMPA distributes relief funds to victims

In a special event held on 13 October 2018, Kerala Master Printers Association (KMPA) distributed relief funds in the presence of K Mohammed Y Safirulla, IAS, district collector of Ernakulam.

“We have distributed funds to seven of our printer members who were severely affected by the floods. Apart from them we have provided relief to 157 employees of our member organisations whose homes were damaged in the floods. Till date KMPA has distributed Rs 23 lakhs to our members and their employees,” said Biju Jose, honorary secretary of KMPA.

R Gopakumar, president of KMPA also handed over a cheque of Rs 2.5 lakhs to the district collector towards Chief Ministers’ Distress Relief Fund.

“In our effort to provide larger relief to the society, we have taken up notebook distribution drive to school students of the flood-affected areas,” said Jose.

As a symbolic gesture of the notebook drive, Safirulla handed over a few notebooks to Suresh, winner of best teacher award 2018 from the government of Kerala.

“We received generous contributions from several of our members, friends of members, various other individuals, fellow print associations, manufacturers and suppliers. Anaswara Offset donated the notebooks to KMPA. Likewise, there have been many kind gestures towards our association in the hour of crisis. Apart from this, we have received a message from the president of AIFMP confirming the federation's contribution to a total amount of Rs 5 lakhs which will be directly donated to the flood-affected members of KMPA,” said Jose.

The evening also witnessed Labelexpo 2018 roadshow conducted by Pradeep Saroha and team.
