K&B's Sascha Fischer spoke about how to exceed print

Sascha Fischer spoke about Koenig & Bauer's sheetfed offset portfolio that offers highly profitable solutions across the packaging, commercial and label segments. He said, the German manufacturer will be present at Drupa and shall offer the widest industry portfolio from B2 to large format. He said, high-performance Rapida presses set industry leading standards in terms of productivity, colour control, flexibility and efficiency. In large format and packaging printing Rapidas are already the established market leaders, and have aims for the commercial and label segments.

Sascha Fischer spoke about how Koenig & Bauer has the broadest sheetfed offset range of all manufacturers. Be it: from half to super large format as well as unique configurations to meet out-of-the-ordinary demands.

Sascha Fischer is a MBA from the European Business School in Wiesbaden, Germany. In July 2010 Sascha Fischer joined KBA as VP Sales, first for sales of sheetfed offset machines in Germany, before taking over the regions of West and Southern Europe as well as Northern Africa. Since May 2014 he heads up the newly founded department of KBA Complete Services, that comprises process consulting and integration, and since May 2015 he heads up the worldwide Product Management for sheetfed offset products of KBA AG.

For the digital print webfed sector, Koenig & Bauer offers a flexible high-volume inkjet system. This is web widths from 77 to 225 cm for maximum flexibility. Sascha Fischer said, the system offers ultimate quality and productivity for commercial and industrial applications with high output.

Today, Koenig & Bauer Durst is a global market leader of single pass digital sheet-fed press systems and software services for the folding carton and corrugated industry. It leverages the capabilities and know-how of its parent companies to offer an unrivalled portfolio of digital printing machinery that includes the CorruJET and Delta SPC 130 systems for corrugated markets, as well the jointly developed VariJET 106 press for folding carton markets. Next he focussed on special printing for metal. In this, he said,  Koenig & Bauer is a world market leader in metal decorating and offers systems for the decoration of three-piece cans as well as production lines for the printing, coating and drying of metal sheets.

He shared insights into the range of die-cutters which included flatbed and rotary die-cutters for paper, board and corrugated and with production speeds up to 15,000 sheets/h in embossing, creasing, die-cutting, stripping and blanking. In addition, the group offers high-quality folding carton gluers which can handle a range of substrates from cartonboard to corrugated. Sascha Fisch said, the folder gluers are extremely versatile and capable of producing the most complex range of carton styles minimising make ready and maximising productivity and profitability.

The group has been in the news for since Koenig & Bauer and Durst Group have committed to build further R&D capability in the joint venture company they set up almost five years ago to capitalise on the significant opportunities in folding carton and corrugated segments. The parent companies of Koenig & Bauer Durst GmbH will expand its operations in Radebeul, Germany.
