JB Khanna Picture gets India’s first AcurioJet KM1e press

Chennai-based picture trading specialist JB Khanna Picture has installed India’s first Konica Minolta AccurioJet KM1e. To mark the installation, JB Khanna hosted an on-site event at its Chennai facility on 30 April 2023

The event showcased the advanced capabilities of the machine, emphasising its potential impact on their business. Attendees were treated to a demonstration of the technology, which highlighted the benefits of this cutting-edge solution for industrial and commercial printing needs.

Established in 1957, JB Khanna is one of the first dedicated religious picture publication companies and has a large, exclusive collection of religious picture produced at its design studio and printing sites.

The company operates with more than 5,000 active dealers pan-India and the number is growing. “We take pride by stating that every house in India will have at least one picture printed at JB Khanna Pictures,” says Khanna.

The Accuriojet KM-1e is a 29.5-inch sheeffed LED UV digital colour press. It can print on media as thin as 0.06mm without curling or wrinkling caused by swelling and drying processes required by aqueous inkjet systems; and as thick at 0.6mm, expanding capabilities of printing a range of applications to include items such as packages, tags, table-top calendars or menus, direct-mail and simple photo albums. 600 nozzles per inch. It can print up to 3,000 sheets/hour/simplex of the maximum paper size (585×750mm) and 1,500 sheets/hour in the automatic duplex printing mode at 1,200 dpi resolution.

Besides the new kit, JB Khann has multi-colour printing machines, fully automated laminating machine, dedicated machine for printing 3D holographic artworks, sticker gumming machine and polar cutting machines In the pre-press, it has a CTP plus scanners.
