Glo produces Kabali poster on the HP Indigo 10000

The news from Rajendra Prasad of Heidelberg in Chennai was about the whistles and koothu and crowd frenzy in Tamil Nadu. What caught PrintWeek India's eye is the sober scene that introduces Kabali (the character played by Rajinikanth) in which he is reading a book. And so, as the camera pans through the grills of a prison cell, we see Kabali reading from My Father Baliah, a memoir by the Dalit thinker Y B Satyanarayana about the life in pre- and post-independent India and their yearning for education.

Meanwhile, we learnt that the poster for Kabali was created by Coimbatore head-quartered digital specialist, Glo. According to Gamyanth Shren of Glo, the Kabali poster designed by V Creations has been printed on the HP indigo 10000. Shren said, "It was a very small run of about 3x400." Printed on Renoir 200 gsm (four-colour), the poster was finished with a digital spot emboss. The highlight of the job according to Shren is, "It was delivered to the customer in 12 hours (including logistics)."

There are more than 230 installations worldwide of the duplex sheetfed liquid toner HP Indigo 10000 presses. Of these, three machines have come to India, which were installed at Mazda Imaging in 2013, Glo Digital Press in 2014 and Klick Digital Press in 2015.
