Flint to talk on sustainable inks and coatings in FTA webinar

Titled as I’m not Trash: Designing Inks and Coatings for a Sustainable Future, the webinar will be jointly hosted by the FTA and Sustainable Green Partnership (SGP).

During the session, representatives from Flint Group Packaging Inks, North America, Natalie Jardell and Gayle Wirthwine will shed light on the role of inks and coatings used in product packaging and its environmental impact.

Natalie Jardell, sustainability product manager, Flint Group Packaging Inks, North America, said, “Sustainable packaging has become an increasingly important issue in recent years and consumers are concerned about its role in waste and pollution. Today, along with governments, NGOs and the industry, in general, is seeking ways to achieve a more circular economy. As a result, brands and their supply chains are investing in new and innovative ways to meet the needs of society and the environment, today and for the future. We can think about this in terms of transforming what is often perceived as trash into the goods of tomorrow!”

The webinar will provide insights on cradle-to-cradle processes, the differences between biodegradable and compostable products, the benefit of reusable solvents and other technical aspects related to inks and coatings. It will also shed light on the various stages of recycling.
