The total investment for the project will be divided into three phases. Implementation of the first phase with a capital outlay of Rs 500 crores is scheduled to be completed by the third quarter of 2022.

Arvind Singhania, chairman, Ester Industries, said, “We chose the state of Telangana due to its industry-friendly policies and the growth-oriented approach of CM K Chandra Sekhar Rao and minister KT Rama Rao. As compared to other states, Telangana is far ahead in respect of investment-friendly climate, ease of doing business and industry-friendly policies such as TSI-pass, T-IDEA and so on.”

Ester claims that the project has the potential to create employment to about 800 people. The end products of the proposed unit will find its applications in packaging with a focus on strengthening the value chain of the flexible packaging industry.

The Gurgaon-based company proposes to export 30-40% of its production to strengthen Telangana’s global flexible packaging footprint. It currently exports about 30% of its production of polyester films with sales and distribution network in more than 56 countries across the world.

Ester has over 30 years of industry expertise in the manufacturing of polyester films, specialty polymers and engineering plastic compounds.
