The installation was commissioned by Insight Communications.

Bharath Ramachandran, director of the company said, “We invested in the Kodak CTP as we were spending more time, energy and money on outsourcing the CTP thermal plates."

The installation, according to Bharath, has been cost effective, and has saved on time and labour cost. "The in-house availability of the set up has helped us meet the crucial deadlines, and improving the profits of the clients. It has leaved us space for exploring new business opportunities."

He vouches for Kodak's quality, consistency and performance in the thermal imaging technology. "We evaluated various factors and looked at options before deciding to go with Kodak Trendsetter platesetters. Kodak CTP device provides productivity, excellent image quality, and stability, something that all printers look for," he added.

Kodak solutions, as Bharath said, are modular and can be upgraded at site.

The firm plans to further automate post-press processes in addition to their existing Horizon folding machine, Rosback saddle stitchers and Welbound perfect binder. Automation of screen printing and addition of digital printing equipment to its arsenal is 'in the pipeline', informed Bharath.
