Bharat Offset Works has teamed up with Bindwel to provide educational books for children in J&K

A book printing firm located in Delhi contributes to education in J&K.When the books that are created provide young readers with many educational books which are durable and well bound, one realises in addition producing good books, a book print firm is also assisting with education and development of young minds. Bharat Offset works is one such company.

Bharat Offset Works was founded by the late Ramesh Chandra Verma in 1980. Today, his son Ashish Verma is continuing the work. The book firm produces educational books for the K-12 segment. As Ashish Verma said, "This means doing work for the J&K state and targeting the notebook market."

The book factory is located in a 400 square/metre set up. And even though it is a single shift system, the USP of the press is "fast turnaround and timely delivery". Two projects Ashish Verma is proud of is, a book about Guruji: The Divine Grace which has been distributed worldwide. And the manufacture of 60,000 books within 10 days at the height of the Covid period.

Ashish Verma said, "Earlier we had a Bindwel single-clamp (Blue Plus) so we could not handle volumes. Our focus was quality. But after adding the Sigloch 1200 we are capable of volume as well as delivering quality." That’s one of the reasons Bharat Offset Works can fulfil the requirements of their customers like J&K Private Publishers.

Bharat Offset Works purchased a single clamp in 2019 to boost their print department. In 2023, they installed a three-clamp (Sigloch 1200) because they did not want to compromise on their quality quotient. As Verma said, "The Bindwel team’s service is unmatched; no other company can provide quick and quality services. Their engineers are very supportive and the sales team suggests the best."

The SigLoch 1200 from Bindwel targets high volume digital print and entry-level commercial textbook printing. The binder provides special features required for producing a well bound book, be it high-end spine preparation, three-roller gluing with head and tail cut-off, variable cover creasing or powerful cover nipping.

Avinash Yadav, the regional manager sales for Bindwel said, "Be it short run digital print or medium run in commercial print, there is a record of each and every book. The print service provider like Bharat Offset Works cannot afford to have even one rejection." Yadav added, "It is with this philosophy that the SigLoch 1200 is accepted by book printers so that there are no surprises or shocks. There is a notion that quality is not important when it comes to low cost printing like textbooks, but that is not correct. From the perspective of the print provider, as margins are low, they cannot afford any wastage or rejections."
