Industry veteran Muralidhar Nalli, who is CEO at Digiflex said, “The Indian market is rich in rotogravure printing for flexible packaging. Still, as brands and printers look to adopt more environmentally friendly and cost-effective approaches, flexographic printing is seen as the preferred printing application to address these concerns.

Hamilroad is an expert in Digitally Modulated Screening (DMS) and pre-press solutions for the printing industry. The work demonstrates what Bellissima can do for the flexo industry in India - print quality, plus reduction in process costs – shorter setup times, coupled with increased productivity – the ability to run presses faster than before, in some cases by 20%.

Muralidhar Nalli added, "We have seen Bellissima print samples, from promotional to production pieces, and they are photographic quality prints. Digiflex leads the India print market in redefining flexo plate and print quality – Bellissima gives our customers and us an economic and competitive advantage over rotogravure." Nalli said the Digiflex team is excited about the technology - no moiré, UHD details, no misregistration problems.

Pierre Hammond, commercial director at Hamillroad, said, “The team at Digiflex are a good fit with Bellissima. They have a clear understanding of where technology meets the market’s needs and are very proactive in their approach. We expect them to be very successful in India.”

DM Screening

DM Screening digitally modulates every pixel it produces – precisely controlling the dots within and between each separation to eliminate noise and graininess. It does this through the use of a “stochastic rosette” which interleaves the screens in the separations to remove noise and moiré. The stochastic rosette maximises the ink-on-paper area and minimizes the amount of ink-on-ink to expand the available color gamut while eliminating color shifts due to misregistration.

The screening analyses each pixel to ensure that no dot is too small to plate or print but is not large enough to be visible. The result is a quality of print that was previously unobtainable.
