AVT showcases latest innovations in print inspection at Labelexpo

AVT’s star attraction at Labelexpo 2025 was the new Helios product line, with varnish inspection, the next-generation solution that combines the reliability of AVT’s proven print inspection with the ability to see and detect coating and varnish problems, such as varnish misprint or varnish to print register issues.

We also reveal for the first time, our latest innovations – among them is AutoEdit AI - a roll editing tool that will automate quality decisions and will boost productivity. It solves the biggest challenge converters face today: how to achieve top tier print quality with no added complexity. Whether you are a flexo, digital, or hybrid printer, and no matter what market you produce for, Helios Core, Turbo and Ultra are designed to give you the best cost-effective choice for your needs,” Guy Yogev, VP of marketing and product, AVT, said.

He added, “With the new Helios product family, you get the best inspection, meaning less waste, faster delivery, and fewer customer complaints. 100% inspection on press contributes to enhanced efficiency and the ability to print and convert faster. Waste reduction and overall energy and material savings contribute to sustainability. Quality data from the press is linked via Workflow Link waste removal solution to the slitter rewinder in order to automatically stop and remove the waste, enabling less manual work and more efficiency.”

AVT introduces both hardware and software-based features to new and existing customers. “We always have our customers’ operation and production workflow in mind, in order to fit into various operation workflows without the need to make drastic changes. The idea is to fit into existing operation flow and elevate it without causing disruption,” Yogev said.

According to Yogev, the company is seeing a strong traction for its products across the board. Flexo converters are looking for cost-efficient inspection to remain competitive against digital. Digital players scaling up need reliable automation to handle higher volumes and tools to verify variable codes and specific digital-related issues and abilities. And finishing-heavy firms are embracing inspection as a way to catch defects before they reach the final stage, saving time and materials. They also need to inspect various finishing features such as die cutting, foils, varnishes, and other embellishment features.

He said, “Helios is designed with open connectivity. It integrates seamlessly with MIS, ERP, pre-press, colour repository and reporting systems, as well as finishing and rewinding equipment. AVT’s ecosystem is built around interoperability, making your shopfloor smarter and more connected.”

He added, “Because AVT is the reference for print quality, process control, production workflows and color measurement, backed by years of experience and the largest install base in the world. We are always at the forefront of innovation.”

Since Labelexpo Europe 2023, AVT has seen strong growth across all key markets, with India standing out as one of our fastest-growing regions.

“We’ve expanded our installed base significantly, especially in mid- and high-tier converters who are upgrading from manual inspection to automated 100% inspection. Globally, our momentum was marked by the launch of the new Helios family with three new product levels, which fits any need and budget and sets a new benchmark for inspection speed and defect detection. We also reinforced our role as the reference point for print quality standards, a positioning we’ve been building toward as AVT celebrates over 30 years of innovation,” he said.
