Thiru T D Rajendran, managing director, Herbs India and Drugs, Thiru V Giridharan, management member, Arasan Ganesan Polytechnic College and M Nandakumar, principal, distributed the appointment orders to all the students. The appointment orders for 190 students were handed over to the students in the presence of their parents.

M Nandakumar, principal, Arasan Ganesan Polytechnic College, said all the students have received more than one placement order. Clasique Labels, Dubai has placed five students with a diploma in printing technology.

“Apart from this, leading companies from India, such as L&T, Hyundai, ITC, Mando Automative, Base Automation, Adhithyan Packers, Asian Metals, Plam Printz, Eswari Picture Mart, Lovely Offset have placed our students. A combined total of 266 placement orders were received for this academic year, including 261 placements in India and 5 abroad,” Nandakumar said.
He said printing technology has a bright future as there are demands not just in India but also abroad.
“There are more than 2.5 lakh industries (printing & allied) in India. But the printing technology course is offered in around 45 institutions in our country. Every year, 65 students get their diplomas from our institute, and in the entire Tamil Nadu, the number is around 360 diploma students. Still, there is a great demand in the printing industry to recruit printing diploma holders. We are not in a position to fulfil the requirements of the industry,” he said.
Keeping the demand in mind, the institute is now running short-term programmes on offset printing machine operation for mechanical and electrical diploma students. “Printing industries are recruiting mechanical and electrical students having the basic knowledge of printing. So, we are offering additional short-term courses,” he added.
