Samyak has installed a Lombardi Synchroline 430 mm wide eight-colour flexo press for meeting the diversified needs of its client.

The press manufactured by Lombardi Converting Machinery, a 30-year-old Italian company has a capability to print on a range of substrates from 12 micron film to a 450 GSM board, with aluminium blister foils, lamitubes, IML, shrink films. This has ensured Samyak can meet its current demands as well as foray into the new industries that it has sought to tap.

Rajendra Kothari, the managing director at Samyak said, "It has been a perfect springboard for Samyak to grow their offering to transition from a traditional label printer to a full-fledged packaging service provider for the brands that the company serves."

Established in 2010, Samyak is a flexible packaging and label printer. The Pune-based company caters to the food and drink verticals along with pet food packaging, barrier packaging, retort pouches, and packaging for pharmaceutical products. The Lombardi Synchroline can be deployed for print  rolls  allowing for fitting of cylinders of different diameter with no need for an adapter. In fact print rolls lay on a special algorithmical-studied curve that is able to keep constant the printing pressure varying the roll diameter.

Samyak's USP is its in-house design and pre-press team which ensures control over the process in order to deliver consistent quality. The corporate office in the heart of Pune is backed by a 30,000 sq/ft plant in Shirwal (adjacent to Pune). As this area is becoming a manufacturing hub in India for automotive and high-end engineering products, Samyak’s proximity to its customers is helping the business grow.

Rajendra Kothari has a blueprint for Samyak India’s future plans. He said, " Customer satisfaction can be achieved by providing quality packaging products, services and solutions, globally." He added, "Improving the quality of working life of all employees and creating a motivated team of professionals whose mission will be attaining the vision of the organisation and developing safe, high-quality products for the betterment of the environment."

Talking about his partnership with the Vinsak team, Kothari said, "In Vinsak we found a partner of choice. They have taken on the complete project on a turnkey basis." This means, he said, they have procured and installed the machines, and provided operator training to make the Samyak personnel operative in the shortest possible time. Their consultative approach is very different from some of the hard-nosed sales teams with whom we have dealt in the past."

Mohan Pailwan, who is the vice president at Vinsak said, "We’re happy to be working with the Samyak team." The main reason is, "They understand the label and flexible packaging industry. In addition there is a commitment to quality, innovation, and service. The installation at Samyak has been smooth and we’re pleased to be extending our outreach in a high growth market such as India."

With this installation in Pune, Vinsak has installed more than 60 machines in India in the past six years. In addition, there are more than 450 in-line flexo presses globally with 125 being sold in the Vinsak territories. Recently, Lombardi has launched its I2 series of mid and wide web in-line flexo presses for flexible packaging.
