What does the machine do?
The BHS Steady E/S is a corrugator, which can produce 5,000 to 6,000 tonnes of boards per month. With a high number of job changes, it can handle a variety of papers and enables customers to produce uniform quality at all production speeds. The smart interface of the machine helps customers to have substantial savings on glue, steam and power.

Which are the different models?
The BHS Steady line comes in two different models — Steady E and Steady S. The BHS Steady E comes with the production speed of 180-mpm while the BHS Steady S comes with a production speed of 230-mpm, which makes Steady S 25% faster. It is also equipped with advanced features such as peripheral heated corrugating rolls, and easy flat board system, which play a vital role in achieving desired speed and quality.

What was the thought process when the machine was conceived?
In India, maintaining uniform quality is the biggest challenge, because of the aggressive nature of Indian papers and varying climatic conditions. In addition to this, our customers in India are facing greater challenges in cost efficiency, high demand from end-users and higher quality requirements.

So, the BHS Steady line was conceived to cater to the needs of customers having higher number of order changes and quality changes on a daily basis. The BHS Steady line enables customers to produce uniform quality with its smart and reliable automation features, without much of manual intervention.

What is the target market(s)?
The BHS Steady line is a perfect product for customers who are supporting industries such as automobile, home appliances, FMCG, and eCommerce, and also for customers who have frequent order changes and are always looking for maximum and efficient output.

What kind of substrates can it handle?
The BHS Steady is capable of providing smooth runs for different kinds of papers like recycled, kraft liner and semi-chemical, ranging from 80 to 440gsm.

How fast is it?
The BHS Steady E/S has a production speed of 180-230mpm, with working width of 2,200mm. In reality, the average speed is the real productivity, which means customers can produce more with less downtime. Customers in India with the BHS Steady E are achieving an average speed of 140- 160mpm on a daily basis, while customers who have the BHS Steady S are easily achieving the average speed of 180-200mpm constantly.

What is the USP of the machine?
The USP includes more qualitative production with minimum waste and crucial savings on glue, steam and power up to 25%. It also features automation in controlling the quality parameters such as glue application, heating of the paper along with quick order changes, and enables customers to produce uniform quality at all production speeds.

Its constant running speed ensures highest possible savings on steam, glue and power, and thus results in reduction in waste.

How easy is it to use?
The BHS machines are user-friendly. The machine interface is simple and easy to understand. During installation, process training is conducted by BHS process experts, who carry out classroom training and practical training on the machine. During start-up, BHS process experts set up the complete machine parameters by themselves which helps customers to have top-quality board production.

What training and support are on offer?
We have a robust training system for our customers and their operators. We have 24-hour technical support, along with local service, wherein our engineers are very close to our customers, helping them maintain high uptime. We conduct a lot of production process training and maintenance training for our customers.

For quick spare parts availability, we have a warehouse in Pune. We have ICorr, a cloud-based system where we can analyse even more than 3,000 inputs per minute from the corrugator. With this, we can predict the failure before it happens, and hence we can alert the customer to prevent a breakdown.

How does BHS provide better support to customers?
BHS India has an infrastructure of 4,000 sqft in Pune with over 20 employees and all are qualified and experienced in sales, service and project management. We have our presence across India, with virtual presence in Nagpur, New Delhi, Greater Noida, Bengaluru, Kerala, Chennai and Ahmedabad.
