Please describe your company...
Miraj Multicolour is a complete printing and packaging solution provider catering to diverse segments like commercial, publishing and packaging. It was established in 2001 by MadanPaliwal, chairman of Miraj Group, with the core idea to offer quality printed products.

The ISO 9001:2015, ISO 22000:2005 and Sedex certified company offers 360 degrees solutions from pre- to post-press, with a production capacity of 30- to 35-million cartons per day and exercise book capacity of 3.50-lakh /20-25 mt paper conversion per day.

When did you start using the Speedmaster CX 102?
We got the Heidelberg Speedmaster CX 102 7 + LX 3 (seven-colour with coating unit) in 2020, and the press has been functioning from day one.

What are the properties of the press you like?
The press comes with advanced technical features. For example, Instellistart, Prinect press centre, push-to-stop, simultaneous washes, ink foil technology, air transfer system with Venturi, preset plus feeder and preset plus delivery with new 3,000 Drystar series. It can run at a speed of 16,500-sph on any substrate and is by far the most productive press in its class.

Why did you decide to use the machine?
We decided to buy a press which can fulfil our packaging requirements. The ideal specification was reliability, consistent quality, less wastage, the best service backup and of course, a robust press for longevity. We explored other presses, which were economical, but at the end of the day, none could match the quality, service support, the features, and benefits with the best ROI on the CX 102. What sealed the deal, however, was the production speed of 16,500-sheets per hour. Mantraraj Paliwal, vice chairman, Miraj Group helped us to speed up and finalise the project. He even visited the Heidleberg plant in Germany before finalisation.

How much have these features helped you in your production?
The beauty of this press is that we have top-speed, high-quality production with no stoppages, which has enhanced our productivity tremendously.

For what applications is the machine used?
The new Heidelberg Speedmaster CX 102 adds the capability to process UV jobs, and apart from the existing clients, our prime focus is the liquor and FMCG industry and other packaging segments.

Is there anything that you do not like or can be improved about this?
Heidelberg has been our preferred partner since our establishment in 2001. It has been a reliable partner in our growth, and we are getting excellent after-sales services from its team.

What’s the quality like?
The quality output has been excellent. With the machine, we have been able to produce excellent packaging jobs. The fact that we acquired additional packaging jobs from certain clients is a testimony to the print quality of the machine.

How easy is it to use and handle?
Heidelberg had arranged a complete training for our staff during the installation. It is also supportive online and via WBRS whenever needed and are in touch with our team every month with tips and tricks to keep on maximising our productivity.

Would you say that it offers value for money?
Yes, the CX 102 has helped us compete with the big names in the industry. As more and more multinationals start adopting new packaging styles, we are ready to claim our share in the industry, and Heidelberg ensures that we are in that zone.

Under what circumstances would you recommend it to others?
Print shop owners, who plan to replace two to three older machines with a new one, can simply sign in for a Speedmaster CX 102, which will be a smart move in today’s competitive market.
