Please describe your company.
Gurugram, Haryana-based Grand Prints, a food carton and pharmaceutical packaging company, works in pharmaceutical packaging. Expanding its customer base, it caters to FMCG products, carton packaging and cosmetics. Grand Prints was established approximately four decades ago.
When did you start using the Maxima HS 1020?
We have been using the Maxima HS 1020 for the last few months. Having said that, we have been using Maxima’s three die-cutters for a long time.
What are the properties of the machine you like?
The machine has a pneumatic chase-locking system with quick die-lock, rigid toggle design, a gripper bar lock system, automatic centralised lubrication, a computerised control touch screen display, non-stop device in feeder and pre-loading attachment, an adjustable advance and retard for feeder timing.
Why did you decide to use the machine?
There is a pride in using a machine that has been made in India. It also comes at a fraction of the cost of its competitors and performs wonderfully.
What are the features that tilted the favour of the Maxima?
The Maxima HS-1020 can cut up to 7,500 sheets per hour. Also, our hands-on experience with the machines and the unmatched after-sales service helped make the decision.
How much have these features helped you in your production?
We have been using Maxima machines for a long time. Now, we have installed the fourth machine. There are plans to install a fifth one. Thus, it shows the reliability of the machine. With the speed of 7,500 sheets an hour, we can complete most of our jobs within or before time.
For what applications is the machine used?
We have been using the machine to cut boards.
Is there anything that you do not like or can be improved about this?
No issue with the machine and the manufacturer. Everything went well. Making and upgrading a machine is a gradual process and the Maxima has been doing a fantastic job. The company has been upgrading its die-cutting machines as per the requirements of the industry.
If there’s a critical packaging job that has come your way, would you rely on the Maxima to see it through?
Yes, of course. We have installed four machines and this is a clear indication of reliability.
What’s the quality like?
The Maxima die-cutters fulfil all our cutting requirements and customers are satisfied with the results. It fulfils our quality parameters and clients’ requirements too.
How easy is it to use and handle?
It is very easy to use and maintenance is low. If you want to enter into the packaging or a mid-level existing player, it is a good machine for you.
Would you say that it offers value for money?
Yes, it offers value for money. European die-cutters are expensive and Chinese have their pros and cons. For a converter like us, it is perfect.
