Avery Dennison awards the winners of scholarship programme

Avery Dennison Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Avery Dennison Corporation on 27 August felicitated the winners of the 9th edition of its annual scholarship program ‘Spirit of Invention’ (InvEnt). With the objective of supporting leadership and innovation and nurture young talent in students studying in the fields of science, engineering and technology, Avery Dennison awarded 15 scholars with a scholarship of US$ 1300 each in a virtual award ceremony.

Alicia Procello, president, Avery Dennison Foundation, said, “As a responsible brand, we are committed to foster the development of talent, nurture creativity and inspire young students to engage in the spirit of invention. We also take great pride in creating an inclusive and supportive platform for students to encourage innovation and pursue their dreams.”

I applaud the scholarship winners and wish them the best for their educational pursuits. Through this initiative, we will continue to actively support leadership and innovation development among students.”

Each year, Avery Dennison Foundation in association with Institute of International Education (IIE), honours 10-15 Indian students belonging to five premier institutes with scholarship to encourage and support leadership and innovation development amongst them. These students also get an opportunity to participate in a special workshop on invention and innovation conducted by the Avery Dennison Foundation.

The five premier institutes are Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bengaluru; BITS Pilani; National Institute of Technology, Trichy; MKSSS Cummins College of Women; and Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW).

Started in India in 2012, the winners under the Avery Dennison Foundation Spirit of Invention (InvEnt) Scholarship Programme are selected through a merit-based, rigorous three-stage selection process. It is the ninth edition of the awards and a total of 95 scholarships to date, have been given.
