Please describe your company.
Established in 1985, HBD Packaging is a family-owned business and is run by four third generation printers — Rajiv and his wife Seema Bhargava and Neeraj and his wife Ritu Bhargava. The Greater Noida-based company converts around 650 tonnes paperboard and 150 tonnes of kraft per month for its mono cartons and corrugation business. Recently, HBD added a 50,000-sqft constructed area to its facility and now has a complete constructed area of 125,000-sqft.

When did you start using Eterna Ecut 1060 Elite?
We have been using the machine for the past few years. We added our second Eterna machine a couple of months back. We are using the Brausse 1050 SDi automatic die-cutter since the last three years. This is our first Eterna Ecut 1060 Elite.

What are the properties of the machine you like?
It is robust, and it offers value for money.

Why did you decide to use the Eterna?
We didn’t look at many options in the market because we have hands-on experience with the Eterna die-cutter. After-sales service is a key, especially when it comes to capital equipment and we are happy with Suba Solutions. We have more than a decade-long relationship with Suba and have around seven machines from them.

For what applications is the Eterna Ecut 1060 Elite used?
We are using it for our mono carton and corrugated jobs and also some jobs which require high precision.

Is there anything that you do not like or can be improved about this?
No, there was no issue. It has most of the options required for our operation.

If there’s a critical printing job that has come your way, would you rely on this to see it through?
Yes, definitely.

What’s the quality like?
The quality is accepted by our customers and we haven’t received any complaints yet.

How easy is it to use and handle?
Yes, it is not difficult to use. It’s like any other automatic die-cutter and our operators did not find any issues in handling and running the machine.

Would you say that it offers value for money?
Yes, it offers value for money. The investment cost and the cost of ownership both are economical.

Were there any difficulties experienced during the use of Eterna Ecut 1060 Elite?
No, we haven’t faced any difficulties.

Supplier’s response:
V Vaidyalingam, director, marketing, Suba Solutions, says, “HBD is a happy customer of Suba Solutions with several machines installed through us. They chose the Ecut 1060E Elite model because they wanted a high-performance die-cutter at optimum price point. The Elite model is built by Shanghai Eterna, a Bobst Group company using The Group technology. High productivity, precision die-cutting, embossing and stripping, fast-makeready, reliability and quality die-cutting with lesser nicks are all hallmarks of the machine. The same model is also on the shopfloor of Super Cartons, Pune and two plants of Parksons Packaging. The Elite model is also available with in-line blanking option.
