Vision plate punch and bender is specially designed to meet the increasing demand of quality CTP plates of commercial and newspaper web offset printing presses.

Memory Repro Systems, the manufacturer of this the plate punch and bender is very optimistic and excited about the product.

The machine can produce up to 240 plates an hour with the maximum size of 900x650 mm, including all kind of plates like thermal, violet and PS plates.

The Vision plate punch and bender is capable of punching and bending plate for single- and double-width offset presses.

Delhi-based Memory Repro System launched the Vision plate punch and bender in 2006 and since then the company has three installations. This includes installations at Jalandhar-based Punjabi newspaper Daily Ajit, Times of India in Trivandrum and one in UK.

Balkrishan Khindria, managing director at Memory Repro Systems, says: "As far as my knowledge goes, we are the only manufacturer to produce this kind of punch and bender in the country. To-date we are getting good number of enquiries."

Scanning
The VPB enables video-controlled positioning of printing plates which registers punching and bending in one working cycle. It is equipped with the latest CCD cameras to scan the CTP plates with up to 40 times magnification to register with a PC Baseline.

The plates are fed manually on the feeder tray. The electronic sensors identify the conveyor to transport the plate to punching and edge bending station.

Register marks are exposed outside the printing area on the plate. They are used for positioning and aligning the plate with the help of two CCD cameras. Cameras record the register marks and transmit it to the PC. The displayed image on the monitor evaluates and sends the control signal for automatic aligning due to its three-axis (X Y and R) which co-ordinates the correct position for punching and edge-bending of the plate.

The plate will be rejected and moved out if one or both the register marks are outside the tolerance field without punching and edge-bending.

Khindria says: "The whole system ensures the quickest register for multi-colour printing on the presses.

The system ensures that the printer can save on time and plate wastage thereby reducing the total wastage during printing.

VPB comes with various options. The system can be connected online to all the known brands of CTP platesetters available in India.

According to Memory Repro Systems, the conveyors and corner transfer units can be supplied for custom configurations. Memory are also marketers for vision flexo plate mounter.

Memory manufactures eight models of plate punches and benders, manual and pneumatic suitable for a range of web or sheetfed offset presses and can supply the custom-size as per the demand.
