Trelleborg plans to capitalise on global leadership in India

Headquartered in Italy, the Trelleborg group with annual sales of USD 3-billion and employing 16,500 people in over 40 countries worldwide, has three blanket verticals: Vulcan, Rollin and Printec. The press consumables manufacturer has eight manufacturing sites for offset blankets in Europe, Asia, North and South America and a team strength of 720.

Trelleborg’s printing solutions is a global market leader in the printing industry and plan to extend their focus and presence in India. They have recently reinforced their local presence with the objective to provide a high level of support and India-focus products to accelerate the business in a sustainable way.

He added, "The R&D team in Italy is working to improve the blanket's effectiveness". He added, “The highly engineered compressible layer gives even lay at the nip by maintaining printing pressure load over millions of impressions. The print surface compound has been designed with improved abrasion and chemical resistance to automatic or manual blanket washing systems," said Bora. "In addition, all blankets manufactured from Italy are of the new technology, the recently introduced solvent-less roller-head line. 

The metal-back blanket, used for both conventional and UV inks, features a very special compressible layer and new top compound, which is more hydrophilic and has more cyclic times. This product line is developed specially for  Indian newspapers that operate coldest presses and sometimes UV.  Bora said that the compressible layer in the new version of MBB blanket is a very special feature which helps to provide a good print mileage and a very quick rebound. 

He concluded, "New presses have been designed to run at very high speeds and as such, they require blankets with very quick rebound-ability and which are able to maintain good print quality for longer periods of time."
