J Sachdev, partner at Standard spoke about "the high print quality, competitive pricing and user-friendliness" of the Taiyo TLC-250 label press. This includes high-profile print converters like Shree Rama Multitech (Ahmedabad), Borkar Packaging (Daman and Baddi), Skypack (New Delhi), Essel Propack, N L Packaging (Silvassa) and Abdos Lamitubes (Guwahati).

The Taiyo TLC 250 is a central impression drum UV rotary letterpress with Eiko Sokki servo motors. Sachdev stated: "The presses are available in web widths of 250mm and 400 mm and is upgradeable to 12-colours."

Shree Rama has its laminated tubes plant in Moti Bhoyan in Kalol in Gujarat. The firm installed its fifth TLC 250 machine in October. All five presses are fully operational and producing laminated tubes and self-adhesive labels and filmic labels.

Meanwhile Borkar invested in its third TLC 250 to boost production of labels and tube laminates for Unilever. The multi-locational firm installed its first TLC in 2005, and the second one in 2008.

The other installation is at Essel Propack which possess es 25 Taiyo machines, globally. The Rs 290-cr company produces high-volume lamitubes.

Then there is N L Packaging (Orient Press), who have installed a six-colour flexo varnish label press with a cold foil unit to ensure value addition; for self-adhesive labels and tube laminates.

Interestingly enough, Taiyo has a laminate tube press with single unwinder and rewinder (or twin rewinders).
