Shailendra Tyagi in a new role

ITC has titled Shailendra Tyagi as the new chief executive for its education and stationery products business. Tyagi, who was the chief operating officer of the business, has been associated with the Indian conglomerate since 1982.

The education and stationery business of ITC, which primarily includes the Paperkraft and Classmate brands is a little over decade old. The company made its entry in the segment with Paperkraft in 2002 and introduced Classmate in 2003. By 2007, Classmate became the largest notebook brand in the country, and today is more than Rs 1,000 crore in sales.
 
Today, together, Classmate and Paperkraft offer a range of products in the education and stationery space providing unrivalled value in terms of product and price.
 
 
In 2010-2011, Pradeep Dhobale was inducted into the ITC board. Dhobale was the head of paperboards, paper, packaging, finance and information technology, and Anand was entrusted with hospitality, travel, and tourism at the strategy level. Towards the end of 2014, Dhobale's role was a focus on the FMCG business.
 
The ITC board has approved the appointment of Sanjiv Puri, currently president, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), with effect from December 6, and Rajiv Tandon, chief financial officer, as additional whole-time directors, subject to the approval of members with effect from 22 January, 2016.
In an investor's note, ITC gave an indication of the contribution of its various businesses, with education and stationery business accounting for about 10% of revenues, branded packaged foods business around 70% and personal care products at about 8%.
