Print stalwarts to grace KOPA-PrintWeek’s second round table at Bengaluru

Print professionals of the Bengaluru print industry will attend a knowledge sharing round table, second in the series, which will be hosted by the Karnataka Offset Printers Association (KOPA) and PrintWeek India on 21 December at the TOPTEC building.

The first round table was an exhaustive three hour session and witnessed the congregation of personalities such as ABalachandra of Rajhans, Nagsundar of Geetanjali Graphics, V Krishnamoorthy of Repromen, Kailash Poddar of Carto Prints, Shivraj Shetty of Mangla Process, Offset, Venkatesh Rao of Omkar, Vishwanath Babu of  Vishwakala Printers Offset. 

The issue discussed at the first session included ‘discarding the myth that the print industry growth is slowing’, ‘scrutising the decreasing volumes’, ‘ the measures that a printer should employ in order to cut costs and increase the efficiency of their shop floors’ and ‘management.

The second round table will focus on the subject "Financial health of the Bengaluru print industry. Is it time to press the panic button?"

The closed-door knowledge sharing initiative has been possible due to Nagsundar and A Balachandra of Karnataka Offset Printer's Association (KOPA).

Speaking about the role of KOPA as a print association, A Balachandra of Rajhans  said, "The need of the Association is to motivate our members to educate themselves in the latest trend in industry. KOPA must also enable them to watch the trends which could be adopted. This is the only association which is doing good for the printers in the country."

A Balachandra, who was elected unanimously as president for the period 2013-15 has been president of Karnataka Offset Printers Association (KOPA) once before from 2003-07. Today, Rajhans It's one of the success stories of India. The print firm that produces 45 titles for monthly magazines, six weekly titles and seven newspaper titles. The firm has nine units in Rajajinagar, Bengaluru covering 90,000 sq/ft areas plus additional units in Devangere in central Karnataka and Coimbatore.

Balachandra, who is known for his acumen, grit and approach is also the chairman of The Offset Printers Technology Trust.
