The four-day event, concluded on 20 September, 2014, with the organiser claiming to have seen more than 5,000 visitor footfall.

Unlike its previous edition, PackPlus 2014, held at New Delhi, which had more than 250 exhibitors, this edition of the show had close to 150 exhibitors, a notable drop in the numbers. According to exhibitors, one of the reasons for this is the upcoming show International PackTech India, which is being held in Mumbai on 25-27, September, 2014.

Speaking to PrintWeek India, Anil Arora of Print-Packaging.com, the organiser of the show, said, “We are extremely happy with the visitor turnout for the four-day show.” He added, “We try to offer newer things to the visitors at every show we conduct. It is should not be merely a show, it should have a long-lasting effect. The show should in return provide value-add to not only the visitors but also the exhibitors.”

Besides the exhibition, the organising company also hosted a two-day conclave, PackAge and Supply Chain at Novatel, a venue next to the exhibition centre.

The theme of the conclaves was focused primarily on the pharmaceutical sectors. According to Arora, Hyderabad being the hub for some of the leading pharmaceutical companies, it was perfect opportunity to organise a conclave on pharma packaging amidst the packaging challenges which the industry has been facing. On the first day, conclave dwelled upon the emerging challenges faced in retail supply and distribution, while the second day the focus was on packaging challenges for a complex marketing and distribution environment.

The two-day conclave saw eminent speakers share their experiences and ideas. Arora said, “The conclave is not only a conference, but it is the platform where everyone benefits through exchange of thoughts.”
