Great opportunity for Indian exhibitors at Frankfurt Book Fair

The German Book Office (GBO), New Delhi has organised a series of events and sessions to be held at Frankfurt Book Fair scheduled to be held from 6 to 10 October 2010.

With over 7,314 exhibitors from 100 countries in 2009, the Frankfurt Book Fair is the hub of the publishing world.

Mary Therese Kurkalang, the marketing and sales manager at GBO said, "This year, we have designed special sessions for Indian exhibitors which would focus on creating networks and showcasing the potential of Indian market.

The special schedule for Indian print firms and publishers at FBF are: A matchmaking session – India and Argentina in collaboration with the Capexil book division on 7 October (Thursday). On the same day, there is a matchmaking session on art and coffee table books for Germany and South Asia market.

In addition, the GBO has organised a guided tour for children's books publishers along with the Federation of Indian Publishers (FIP). During this tour held on 8 October, Indian and German groups will collaborate.

On the same day, there's a special session called India Unlimited which will have a discussion by Indian experts about publishing perspectives.

The third session for 8 October would be Matchmaking Printers: India with the international publishers.

Besides this, there are book readings and networking groups. Kurkalang stated, "The sessions would be of great help to the Indian exhibitors and provide innumerable opportunities."
