Navakal has completed 90 years of publication and to upgrade its print quality, the publication group has invested in the new CTP system supplied by TechNova Imaging Systems.

Rohit Ramakant Pandey, who is the fifth generation and executive editor at Navakal, said, “We were using the conventional plate making system for our plate production. We still use the conventional method but we use the violet CTP for producing the plates for front page, inside front page, last page and inside back pages.”

Pandey added, “We have completed 90 years of publication and as a part of celebration we wanted to upgrade our print quality and hence opted for the violet CTP technology.”

This is the first violet CTP system from Screen in Mumbai.

Pandey said, “This installation is rare. All know that Screen manufactures thermal CTP platesetter, but interestingly they also manufacture violet CTP system. TechNova has been supportive and has provided us the technical know-how of the violet technology. This is probably the first violet CTP system from Screen in Mumbai.”

Established in 1923, Navakal has a print run of more than three lakh and employs more than 150 employees.
