Vijay Pareek director

of Genius Flexo Machinery and exclusive distributor of MPS in the Indian sub-continent, said: "This new MPS press is an automated offset combination press using sleeves for the plate and blanket carrier. It has a complete new way of offset print pressure settings it allowed the MPS engineers to make use of normal sleeve technology without the use of special support bearer rings."

According to Pareek, EXL Sleeve-Offset offers value-addition for label jobs and is an ideal machine for Indian market. "Apart from the unique plate and blanket carrier, it is also capable of doing offset commercial jobs of size 20 x 30inches. This is an added comfort for an offset printer. Along with films and labels, this machine enables the printer to cater to packaging printing jobs. It offers the ideal machine configuration with gravure, rotary screen, hot/cold foil and UV flexo/coating demands required for packaging jobs, not to miss out on the roll form printing that a regular sheetfed offset commercial press is not capable of offering."

The mid-web flexo version of EXL, EXL-Packaging is faster and wider. "The press is built up to 26 inches at a speed of 300mts/min," said Pareek.

The EXL presses make use of the same user-friendly press design and are equipped with intelligent servo technology including the company’s Automated Print Control (APC), job recall memory system, iControl, Crisp.Dot and Multi Drive settings.

"The print settings are done with servo positioning technology (APC) and the material thickness compensation is automatic. The print settings as well as other press settings (like UV, corona, web tensions etc.) can be loaded into job memory for repeat jobs," said Pareek.

In India MPS, kick-started its operation with the installation of an eight-colour MPS EF 410 at Pragati Flexo, which is a sister company of Pragati Offset and Pragati Packaging. In 2010, Pragati added a fully-loaded MPS EC 330 press.

Currently, Genius Flexo Machinery has four installations in India at leading label printing companies like Ajanta Packaging and Pragati Flexo.
