"We use industrial heads, which makes the machine a robust one," says Majoj Kumar Garg, the national product manager for signage at Monotech.

The other machine on display at the show was the PixelJet Konica 3300L. The 3300L is now driven by the Konica 512 head (it previously used the Xaar head). At the show, Monotech sold three machines.

Monotech claims to have installed 200 machines last year, which besides it own machines include GCC flatbed printers and Oce's Arizona. "We have sold two Arizona machines last year," says Garg. One of the two Arizonas has been installed at Dina Color Lab in Chennai. "Dina uses the machine for printing of glass among other rigid substrates for producing niche products," says Garg. "It’s an ideal foil for the digital business disruptors, because this technology itself is a disruptor. “One can add new services by printing photo-quality images on virtually any media, take on work that was never before possible with lesser quality printing systems."

Overall, Monotech has an installation base of 430 machines in India.
