MIT conducts national-level technical festival

The Department of Printing and Media Engineering, MIT Manipal conducted Media Carnival, its sixth national-level intercollegiate print and electronic media technical festival on 12 and 13 February 2018 at its campus.

The two-day event saw participation from over 100 students from all over India in 11 competitions which were conducted for engineering and diploma category separately.

Vilas Nayak, chairman and managing director of Hanuman group of companies, Udupi, inaugurated the festival.

O Venugopal, vice president- south, AIFMP and Sathishchandra SS, PMS product manager, Manipal Technologies were guests of honour, while Dr Somashekara Bhat, associate director of development, MIT presided over the inaugural function.

PVG’s College of Engineering and Technology, Pune bagged Dr TMA Pai Memorial Shield for overall championship in the engineering category while Arasan Ganesan Polytechnic College, Sivakasi (AGPC) and Salesian Institute of Graphic Arts (SIGA) shared Prof P S Shivaram Memorial Shield for overall championship in the diploma category.

“We thank our management, our unstinted supporter Manipal Technologies and all our special guests and invitees of inauguration and valedictory functions, our sponsors and well-wishers, our competition judges, participating students and their authorities for making this event a memorable one to all of us,” said Dr Amrutharaj H Krishnan, HOD of printing department, MIT.

Col Prakash Chandra, director, general services, MAHE, Manipal was the chief guest for the valedictory function. Dr Narayan Shenoy, associate director - student welfare, MIT presided over the function and Chandrakanth Desai of Manipal Digital Systems was the guest of honour.
