MIPT students celebrate Teacher's Day

Pune Vidyarthi Griha's (PVG) Maharashtra Institute of Printing Technology (MIPT) celebrated the Teacher's Day on 6 September 2010.

R A Palkar, principal at MIPT, said: "It is our honour that our students love and respect the teachers and decided to organise such an event. We really appreciate their approach."

To grace the occasion, MIPT had invited Sachin Shardul assistant editor PrintWeek India and alumni of MIPT as chief guest to inaugurate the event.

Palkar said: "PrintWeek India is the most reputed print magazine in India. The content of the magazine benefits not only the print industry but also the educational institute like ours."

Shardul said: "Being an MIPT alumni, it is an honour to be invited as a guest for the function. The college has given me the print foundation."

Addressing to the students, Sachin Shardul commented on the latest trend in the print industry and how students can use the technical information featured in PrintWeek India magazine for their education.

In the recently concluded Print Pack Sign Expo 2010, students from MIPT helped in organising the event which was appreciated by all the exhibitors. This helped students to see and learn the latest technology which were displayed at the exhibition.

Established in 1929, PVG which is more than a century old charitable organisation started MIPT. In 1978, MIPT started its three year diploma in printing engineering. Later in 1985, PVG started College Of Engineering and Technology which imparts higher education in printing engineering.
