Media Expo looks at USD 31.0 mn wide-format Indian market

Media Expo opens in New Delhi today (24 July 2015). The three-day event is on until 26 July 2015, from 10am to 6pm, and entry is from gates 1, 7 and 10 of Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. At a time, when India’s wide-format printer market is estimated to reach USD 31.0 million in 2015, the show is an important one.

If you are wide-format printer, or any way related to the rising out of home (OOH) segment or into advertising and signage solutions, you need to be at Pragati Maidan. This is where the action is, at Media Expo Delhi.

The three-day event is from 24 July to 26 July 2015, (10 am to 6 pm), and entry is from gates 1, 7 and 10 of Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

Expectations are high, as the exhibition promises to offer an environment bustling with potential. It promises to enable the visitors analyse the global market and network with partners across the industry, demonstrating new age solutions in signage, point of purchase, advertising, printing, retail and shop displays and promotional material.

The exhibition also comes at an important juncture when the OOH segment and the wide-format market in India are poised for spectacular growth, fuelled by increasing advertisement expenditure, growth in packaging industry, surging demand for digital prints in textile industry and strengthening of print industry.

According to 6Wresearch, a global market research and consulting firm, India’s wide-format printer market is estimated to reach USD 31.0 million in 2015. Roll to Roll large format printers have captured a lion’s share in the market dominated by applications such as print media, textile, architectural, banners, and signboards. At the same time, the share of flatbed wide-format printers is expected to increase due to their adoption in the advertising and packaging industry.   

The key players in India’s wide-format printers market are namely HP, Canon, Epson and Roland, all of whom are at the exhibition. Other big-name companies at the show include Colorjet, Plasto India, SRF, Axyz Automation, Esko, and Sam Inks.

Colorjet is launching its latest printer model, ‘Softjet Grand – Grand Format Soft Signage Printer’, which signals the start of the company’s move towards environmental friendly products.

Apsom is displaying solutions for the highly potential market of gift and novelties and customisation of products along with the promising LEF20, which can print directly onto materials such as acrylic, wood, board, paper, card, PET, ABS, PVC, polycarbonate and other plastics as well as soft materials like leather and fabric.

Esko is demonstrating the i-cut Suite and ArtiosCAD software and the entire workflow, from design to prepress to versatile finishing.

Sun Fabric is demonstrating recyclable, non-tearable and versatile fabric solution compatible with a range of printing technologies.

Fujifilm is showcasing its inkjet technologies and its Acuity Flatbed Series and Acuity Led 1600.

HP is showcasing its portfolio of Latex and Designjet printers and applications. Many of the applications are being exclusively showcased for the first time at the Media Expo 2015. Visitors at HP booth can also see live demos of wall art, vehicle wraps and other printing applications.

3D printing being the flavour of the season, a one of its kind printer, PAT Orator 3.0 is being launched by Prakash Offset. The PAT Orator 3.0 comes with large volume and high precision printing resolution of 0.1 to 0.05 mm and combines innovative technology and hardware to increase speed, accuracy, print volume and reliability of print.

This is not all.

There are more brands and products and solutions to choose from. There is also a conference on the advertising, printing and signage industry aimed at educating the printers and the end-users about the possibilities with new printing technologies and marketing solutions.
