Raj Manek, executive director, Messe Frankfurt Asia, said, “Messe Frankfurt works closely with the industry to ensure that our platforms represent what the Indian market requires. The decision to launch Media Expo in Chennai was thus based on the strategic feedback and support of our key exhibitors, who have now communicated a sudden change in their strategies. It is not an easy decision, but one we feel we must make to avoid compromising on the scale and standard of a Messe Frankfurt exhibition.”

The fair has now been rescheduled following recent discussions and consultation with key stakeholders, who have been associated with Media Expo for years. A new date for the debut edition is expected to be announced in due course.

Meanwhile, next editions of the exhibition will take place in Mumbai (23-25 February 2017) and Delhi (22-24 September 2017) as scheduled.

For its 40th grand edition in Mumbai, the organisers now intend to concentrate efforts on covering the target sectors from the south ensuring that exhibitors will have the opportunity to meet business prospects from this significant and important region. The organisers also believe that the rescheduled dates will benefit the exhibitors by bringing a larger and more targeted participation from trade visitors and professionals when the industry can come together in Chennai.

Messe Frankfurt declares Media Expo Delhi a success

According to Messe Frankfurt, Media Expo Delhi 2016 drew 12,336 visitors from across the country. The show provided a high-level networking ground for its 204 exhibitors showcasing their latest offerings over 5,190 sq/m of space.

SM Ramprasad of Fujifilm India said, “We are super excited about the prospects we have closed at Media Expo. For our new made-in-India eco-solvent printer, we have about 25 closures. It is the kind of takeoff we wanted; which is why we timed this launch at Media Expo and we are glad that it happened exactly the way we wanted.”

Santosh Nair, country manager, HP, said, “Media Expo has always been a great show for HP mainly because of the footfall and we see lot of minds rolling towards innovative products, primarily because there are new technologies coming in. HP has launched the extension of its current portfolio along with our flagship product – D3100 with capabilities of dual side printing, which we are showcasing for the first time in the country. We have close to 10-12 potential closures in the pipeline and it has been a great show. You will see HP in the upcoming editions of Media Expo in Mumbai and Delhi for sure.”

While Colorjet reported to have signed 11 deals on the first day of the fair itself, Roland also confirmed to have received orders from day one, reporting double digits on deal closures. Other leading brands like Mimaki, Caldron, Monotech, Katar Coorporation, ADS LED, Cosign, among others, also recorded good business leads on the show floor.

While exhibition stands were packed with business discussions, negotiations and product superlatives, exhibitors affirmed that Media Expo had the perfect blend of serious buyers and decision makers from across the country walking the aisles. From first timers to regular visitors, Media Expo offered the latest solutions for diverse requirements in printing, signage solutions as well as indoor and outdoor advertising.

Dinesh Ramani, proprietor, Randal Designer Door, said, “This is my first visit to Media Expo. Since my business is into designer doors manufacturing, we found the UV machine from Mimaki matching our requirement. The expo is brimming with potential solutions and you will definitely find me visiting the next show.”

Travelling from Panipat especially in search of new technologies, Lokesh Batra, proprietor, Satyam Graphics, closed several deals at the show. He said, “I have purchased four Ultrajet machines which are newly launched for printing and cutting from Infiniti Digital. The fair has been a fruitful experience for me. I will surely be visiting the expo again.”

Another regular visitor at Media Expo, Vasant, proprietor, A1 Dream Digital, was impressed with the quality of the platform and the brands present at the fair. He said, “This is my third visit to the exhibition and I have noticed tremendous improvements from the past editions. There are a vast number of product launches and latest technologies that have been displayed from across the industry. My sole purpose of visiting has been for strategic tie-ups and my experience has been exceptionally good.”
