KMPA submits memorandum on GST

On 27 August 2017, the Kerala Masters Printers Association (KMPA) submitted a memorandum regarding the GST to the ministry of finance, Dr Thomas Issac.

S.Saji, President, KMPA; R Gopakumar , Vice President, KMPA and Rajesh G, secretary of KMPA represented printers of Kerala.  The purpose of the memorandum was to highlight the lack of clarity on the GST rates that has been observed in the Kerala printing industry. Also, the aim was, to a have a transparency about the revised taxes that had been introduced.

Another important subject of matter was to have a uniform tax rates in the printing sector, rather than different slabs for different printed products,

During the discussion with the minister, KMPA representatives put forth all the issues faced by the printers due to GST.

According to the KMPA, the meeting with the minister Dr Thomas Isaac was a successful one and he has agreed to look after this issue. 

Since the implementation of the GST regime on 1 July, many printing companies in India, continue to clueless, owing to the contradictory notifications on the subject.
