Indian printers gear up for Awards deadline

"Can you win an award even without entering?" asked director of Haymarket Media and publisher of PrintWeek India, Jim James while announcing the deadline for submission of entries for the coveted PrintWeek India Awards. "No, you cannot", he answers, adding, "But if you enter the awards it gives you an opportunity to showcase your print performance and capabilities."

He recalled what a winner had said days after winning an Award in 2009. "It's great to be recognised as a PrintWeek India Award winner. It has made our employees feel valuable, given assurance to our current customers and has attracted potential customers too."

Calling on the Indian printers, James said : "The last date for submission of entries for the second edition of PrintWeek India Awards is 15 June 2010."

Following the success of the first edition of PrintWeek India Awards in 2009, PrintWeek India launched the second edition in February 2010 terming it "the annual hunt to find print's brightest and best companies and rising stars".

After an initial screening, the entries will be judged by a jury comprising of experts and decision-making print buyers. Winners of the Awards will be honoured at a function to be held towards the end of August at the Grand Hyatt, Mumbai.

"We want the achievements of Award winners to go beyond the celebrations at Grand Hyatt and enter into the domain of print buyers, the key drivers of the print industry," said James.

The growing popularity of the Awards and the significant impact it has had on the professional development of the print industry can be reflected by the substantial enquiries for entry forms and the number of sponsorships it has been able to attract. Heidelberg India and Grafica Flextronica have confirmed the sponsorship as on 5 May 2010. The list is growing...
