GMP Protopic Auto Quatro 450 at PM Digital Products

When PrintWeek India asked Chellapan why he invested in the GMP Protopic Auto Quatro 450, he said, “We invested in the lamination machine last year. We zeroed in on the machine mainly because of its versatility.”

The GMP Laminator  offers high gloss chrome rollers, a high pressure laminating roller with pneumatic cylinder and specially developed films for digitally printed stock. The machines are belt-fed with an automatic feeder option and can laminate up to B2 format.

At the moment PD Digital is deploying the kit for its double-side lamination, auto feeding, sheeting, textured lamination and slit for photo albums. Also, the machine is also capable of sleeking and foiling.

Chellapan said, “We use GMP for all our general thermal lamination requirements for both our digital and offset printed sheets. The kit has benefited us in terms of excellent quality and speed.”

When asked if the GMP has any value additions, print job accomplishment, and savings in terms of wastages, turnaround time achieved with the machine? Chellapan replied, “We are now able to provide textured lamination and foiling. And wastage is less and output is faster.”

The laminating machine from GMP can be used for single side and double side lamination, texture embossing and digital sleeking. The versatile laminator can be used for duplex gloss lamination duplex photo matting, media slit lamination. The machine is equipped with automatic paper feeding gap control system and automatic burst cutting system.

PM Digital has an offset and digital printing facility under one roof, the digital wing of the company includes a HP Indigo and IBM Ricoh. This is supplemented by an offset sheetfed and web offset unit along with India’s first Scodix.
