The new Ryobi 924 has been installed by Bengaluru-based Indo European Machinery.

Expert Print which operates from one of the most printer-populated industrial estates in India, specialises in brochures, catalogues, books and speciality jobs and caters to clients from the pharma, bank and FMCGs. One of the firm's mainstay client is Mail Order Solutions (MOS).

"There are hardly any presses of this size in the vicinity, which puts us in an ideal situation to take up more jobs in the 8-up A4 size without too much of wastage," said the partners of the firm, Vikas Gaikwad and Prashant Gosavi.

And according to the partners, besides the sheet size, the press has features like semi-automatic plate loading, suction tape feeder board, the PCS-G printing control console with programmed inking (CIP4), Ryobi-matic continuous dampening, ink roller and blanket auto-cleaning, JDF compatibility and other automated systems to enable efficient job changeover.

"With the new kit we can fully control the quality of print and productivity," said the partners.
Gosavi added: "The fifth unit, an inline coater will enable adding value to our printed products. We can see potential productivity benefits here."

Expert Print was established in 2004 and besides the Ryobi 924, is equipped with a four-colour Komori, a two-colour Heidelberg and a host of post-press machinery. The plates for the presses are outsourced from a CTP bureau that operates next door.

The Rs 10-crore turnover firm employs 50 persons.
