By mere numbers, EFI India is the largest location with over 530 employees mostly comprising of research and development personnel, working out their plush Bengaluru office.

In a recent interview with our managing editor Noel D’Cunha, EFI’ chief executive Guy Gecht describes EFI India as the ‘hub of development’ and also emphasised that ‘15-20% of EFI's revenue is reinvested in R&D in good times and bad.’

Interestingly, India is the only location with the presence of EFI’s three business units – productivity suite, inkjet printers, and digital front-end servers. The Indian research team is attributed with many achievements and recently was credited for their significant contribution in EFI’s latest Fiery (FS200 Pro) which was first released with Xerox iGen5.

EFI has over 3000 Fiery users in India as part of their massive 1,800,000 Fiery installations worldwide.

We see a bigger role for the Asia Pacific region, and there’s a tremendous momentum the company is seeing in India,” said Samir Gulve, managing director, EFI India while talking to Printweek India at Pamex.

The company which has a reputation for mergers and acquisitions have been on a sort of spree in 2015 with Reggiani and Matan being added to their inkjet repertoire and the significant deal of Shuttleworth in their productivity solution offerings.

EFI also have made further inroads in the inkjet segment with Arrow Digital becoming dealers for Matan, the H1625 LED wide-format printers and Jetrion digital label presses.
