Yogesh Pandoh, Vinod Verma and Kartavya Pandoh, promoters of the firm said, “The automation with the Kodak CTP platesetter installation will provide us with an edge in quality and turnaround time for our specialty packaging printing. Trensdsetter 400 is well known in the printing industry for its reliability and easy maintenance, one of the prime reasons for us to opt for the technology.”

With an in-house design studio and finishing equipment in place, this installation makes it a winning combination for DDR.

“We have calibrated it to expose 33"x39" size plate. And with T/860-1250 plate processor we can process 30 plates per hour," added Yogesh.

DDR started as a DTP centre in 1992 and with backward integration ventured into offset printing in 1996. It was the first commercial printing unit in Jammu to have an in-house designing studio. Besides these, it was also the first to add a perfect binding line, UV curing and automatic leaflet folding machine to its kit. Recently in 2011 it also added Autoprint Reckoner VDP 65 (variable data printing) along with folding and case making machines for book production.

“By integrating this offline sheet-fed variable data printing, we are able to execute data printing applications like numbering, bar-coding, addressing, logo printing, copy marking, personalised marketing and a whole array of exciting possibilities,” added Verma.

The firm’s new packaging unit is being commissioned at Bari Brahmana in Jammu & Kashmir under the aegis of Dee Dee Packaging Industries.
