What does the system do?
The Helios systems from AVT is equipped to the rewinder machines, which inspects the labels for defects right from registration, colours to code identification. The system works on a camera which serves as eyes and a software which serves as the brain.

Why did you choose this particular system?
We specified our requirements, which besides speed included 100% defect-free output. Three companies in India offered inspection systems. But we selected AVT, as they are the pioneers in the field. Moreover, AVT’s India operations is handled by Reifenhauser in Mumbai, which ensured prompt service. 

Did you look at any other similar systems?
No.

Why did you make the purchase?
We are one of the leading label manufacturers and to stay the leader, we had to go in for a system which offered 100% defect-free labels to our customers.

What features do you particularly like?
The PDF Comparison with actual print (artwork). It compares the master artwork with each and every printed label.

Is there anything that you dislike?
Two things. The viewing area could have been made larger and the speed could be ramped up from the present 75mpm.

Is there anything that you wish it had that it doesn’t?
Validation as per pharma requirements.

How fast is it?
When installed the system printed at 50mpm. However, the company upgraded the hardware and software to ramp up the speed to 75mpm.

How reliable is it?
Very reliable. It is the core of our organisation’s operations.

What’s the quality like?
The system ensures delivery of high qualilty product. Our customers are happy.

How easy is it to use?
With full automation, it’s easy to set up and operate. We were provided with full training.

How much time or money has it saved?
t has reduced lead time for deliveries by 50%. We are now able to deliver products in matter of days or in hours.

Has it won you any new work?
For the type of work we are doing, we always have work. The important factor, however, is to have a system which will maintain heavy production, particularly during peak time. The system has accordingly helped us strategise our marketing efforts.

Would you say that it offers value for money?
Yes.

Were there any difficulties experienced during the installation or after?
Post training, the going has been smooth.

What about the pre and after-sale service?
Reifenhauser has provided excellent after-sales service.

Who do you think the system is right for?
For those who mainly manfacture pharma labels as well as FMCG labels.

Under what circumstances would you buy another?
Only when we plan an expansion.
