Yaar to connect print firms to right vendors

Yaar, headquartered in Mumbai, has been launched by Sujit Mathew Oommen a month ago. The unique consultancy firm has been designed to support the business and procurement strategy of a small print firm in any part of India.
Oommen, a specialist in synthetic paper, said outsourcing odd jobs to Yaar will benefit print firms in more ways than one. He said, “The idea is to provide clear and instantaneous information to any firm that seeks advice. Today, every firm needs to be flexible to adapt to the changing technology and should also consider many types of technologies. For a small entrepreneur this is very difficult to do."
When queried what sort of tech-questions have emerged, Oommen said it could be, a firm in Mumbai wanting to put a new plant in Bengaluru and seeking post-press kit; or a digital print firm wanting to buy a block foiling machine; or a sticker paper manufacturer looking to tap new markets; or a search for a service engineer for an older generation offset press.
Oommen said, the model is like a Google search engine, except our strength is print industry specialisation. He said, "We encourage the print CEO to focus on the shopfloor and work on performance which is revenue-generating instead of dissipating their energy in search of vendors who can provide a special kind of white ink or binding cloth or just about anything one is looking for.”

Oommen concluded, "Yaar offers a unique model in which the printer can outsource the requirement to us and we will take care of the rest.”
