Trident launches premier digital printing paper Digiprint

On the sidelines of Paperex 2015, on 2 November, Trident, the Ludhiana-based manufacturer of copier paper, launched a new brand of premium digital printing paper, Digiprint. Targeted at the tech-savvy population in the Metros and tier-one cities, the company said, the paper would be a cost-effective and quality alternative to imported papers.

This is the sixth product in copier paper segment from the company. The other five products are Royal Touch, Spectra, Eco Green, Natural, and My Choice.

The company, part of the USD one billion conglomerate Trident Group, with its business in yarn, terry towels, paper, chemicals and energy, is world’s largest wheat straw-based paper manufacturer.

The A4, 100 gsm Digiprint paper is also wheat straw-based and according to the company, it is elemental chlorine free, and sharp and clear. The company said the paper is ideal for brochures, presentations, reports and leaflets, as the paper offers superb printability, extra high smoothness, industry par thickness and unparalleled whiteness.

The company, which has two plants in Punjab and Madhya Pradesh, manufactures 7,500 tonnes of paper per month.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajinder Gupta, chairman, Trident Group, thanked all the stakeholders, from distributors to customers, for making this environment-friendly initiative to make paper from ago residue a success. “Please do not allow us to make even a single mistake. Demand as much as you can in terms of quality, in terms of service, and tell us how we can better ourselves,” he said.

In this 25th year, the flagship company of the group has its customer base in more than 75 countries across six continents. Trident is one of the largest yarn spinners in India, one of the world’s largest terry towel manufacturers and the world’s largest wheat straw-based paper manufacturer, with a production capacity of 175,000 tpa.

The 12th edition of Paperex, the international exhibition and conference on pulp and paper industry, is being organised from 1 to 4 November 2015 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
