TechNova Imaging Systems unveils dye-sublimation inkjet technology

TechNova Imaging Systems, the fourth largest manufacturer of digital printing plates has launched dye-sublimation inkjet, NovaJet Transfero.

It is a heat transfer paper coated with a unique layer, specially designed for aqueous dye-sublimation inkjet printing and transfers.

Abhay Kasture, product manager – screen print solutions at TechNova Imaging Systems, said: "NovaJet Transfero is designed for transfers on polyester based fabrics and blended synthetic fabrics. The back of the same paper is specially coated for ceramic transfers."

Kasture added: "This specially coated paper for dye sublimation inks gives brilliant transferred optical density. It also provides true colours and sharp images to obtain excellent print quality on base paper to get high colour intensity on transfers. The paper is compatible with most aqueous high-transfer rate."

Besides the new dye sublimation technology, TechNova also launched polyester laser plates for wide-format and positive laser film. These plates and films are direct computer to press and film and can be used for single- and spot-colour. Reynold Prabhakar, product manager-laser media at TechNova Imaging Systems, said: "In case of plates, these are economical, requires no chemicals and is available in maximum 36inch width. The plates are ideally suited for book printers and small newspapers. It can produce 100-5,000 prints."

Meanwhile, TechNova has announced the installation of more than 500 Posijet and Metijet in newspapers and commercial print firms across India. According to the manufacturer, these installations are in use for the last three years and will be able to cross the 700 installation mark by the end of 2011.
