Spectalpack invests in two HP Indigo 200K presses at Labelexpo
Bengaluru-based Spectalpack has announced the purchase of two HP Indigo 200K digital presses to expand its flexible packaging business. The confirmation was made during Labelexpo Europe 2025 in Barcelona, where the company outlined how the investment fits its growth model.

Pritesh Dalmia, co-founder and director of Spectalpack, said the decision followed the success of the company’s first Indigo press. “We are already running the first press at maximum capacity. The second and third were planned to meet a constant demand and a business model that we see as scalable. The packaging industry is growing and we want to be part of that story,” he explained.
Dalmia described short runs as a key driver of demand, but not only in the conventional sense. “Short run does not just mean 1,000 or 5,000 pieces. It could be a job of 1,00,000 pieces split into 40 designs. For us, that translates into a large volume. With new brands in the food segment launching regularly, packaging becomes their most important differentiator. That is where we come in, supporting them with flexibility and speed,” he said.
Spectalpack serves customers across India and is developing service hubs to improve turnaround. “We are not selling packaging, we are selling time. Our commitment is to deliver within seven to ten days across the country, with pouching in seven days and one-day transit. Bengaluru is the hub for the south, and we are considering a northern hub to cut transport time,” Dalmia added.
A Appadurai, country manager, HP Indigo India, said Spectalpack’s expansion reflects wider trends. “If they were not successful, no one would invest in three engines within a year. They have redefined our idea of plug and play into plug and profit,” he stated. He pointed to the rise of multiple SKUs and the growth of smaller brands as drivers of flexible packaging demand. “Small is the next big. Brands are coming out with numerous SKUs and converters like Spectalpack are cutting turnaround times dramatically. That is what is helping them grow.”
Appadurai noted that HP Indigo is approaching double-digit installations of its wide-web presses in India, with the 200K joining an installed base that includes the 20K and 25K. He said the momentum signals that Indian converters are beginning to scale digital flexible packaging for mainstream use.
