Kolkata-based Color Venture, led by Partha Mitra, has strengthened its in-house finishing capabilities with the installation of a Bindwel SigLoch XE-Cut, enabling greater control over production, improved quality, and faster turnaround times.

The company operates from Nimta in the Belghoria region of Kolkata and specialises in commercial print applications, including diaries, calendars, catalogues, posters, danglers, mono cartons, boxes, gift items, and writing pads. Its primary customer base comprises corporate clients and local business houses.

Color Venture runs both digital and offset operations. The digital unit, spread across 1,000-sqft, is equipped with a Canon press along with finishing systems including the SigLoch XE-Cut and a guillotine. The offset facility spans 6,000-sqft and houses four-colour and bi-colour presses.

Prior to installing the XE-Cut, the company outsourced finishing work, which limited production control and affected delivery timelines. The move to in-house finishing has enabled end-to-end production, resulting in improved quality and more consistent turnaround.

According to the Color Venture, the XE-Cut’s bed size and precision capabilities have supported detailed cutting applications while maintaining a compact footprint. Features such as easy job changeover and the ability to handle multiple job types, including box work, have improved operational flexibility.

One of the recent applications executed using the machine was a customised writing pad stand produced as a gift item. The job required precise cutting due to its structural design, and was completed within a turnaround time of two to four days with SigLoch XE-Cut

Partha Mitra said he selected Bindwel due to its track record in manufacturing and service support in India. Mitra said, “I will definitely recommend it as it is an Indian company with a quality product and a responsible service team.”

He added that Bindwel’s engagement extends beyond installation and service support. “Their product manager from the factory also visits whenever they are in town and educates us on various aspects of the machine and the innovative products that we can produce.”
