Reflecting on a long-standing presence at the event, Gaurav Gala, founder of S2 Trading Corporation, noted that Pamex remains a premier fixture for the printing industry. Against a backdrop of a strengthening national economy, Gala expressed a positive outlook for the sector, predicting significant market growth in the coming years.
While the printing industry continues to evaluate its environmental impact, Gala argued that synthetic paper offers a practical alternative to traditional wood-pulp products. Addressing the sustainability of his product range, he highlighted the efficiency of the material's lifecycle.
“We are 100% recyclable. We are the fastest recyclers in the paper industry,” Gala noted. “Paper takes time to be recycled, as you have to plant trees. We just need to keep the waste in the machine for five minutes to turn it back into granules.”
These granules are then used as raw materials for the broader plastic industry, repurposed to manufacture items such as chairs and paint tubs — this recycling loop positions synthetic paper as a functional solution for waste reduction.
S2 Trading Corporation is focusing its 2026 efforts on two primary pillars: offset and digital printing. By partnering with major manufacturers, including Jindal, SRF, Cosmo, Garware, and Polyplex, and sourcing materials from Thailand, the company is ensuring the Indian market has access to a wide range of substrates.
Gala believes the global trend toward synthetics is now gaining momentum in India. He suggested that the traditional reliance on timber-based paper is becoming less necessary as technology evolves. “In the rest of the world, synthetic paper usage is already immense. In India, it is growing now,” he explained. “It is the time of synthetic paper.”
As the industry moves toward more durable and easily recyclable materials, S2 Trading positions synthetic paper as the "way forward" for the domestic printing trade.
