RIPT Kolkata to host online STTP on print quality assurance
The Department of Printing Technology at the Regional Institute of Printing Technology (RIPT), Kolkata—one of India’s oldest print institutes—has announced a three-day online Short Term Training Programme (STTP) focused on Quality Assurance and Process Control in Print Production.

Scheduled to run from 19 to 21 January 2026, between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm daily, the course is a response to the industry's rapid shift towards digital, inkjet, and hybrid workflows, where non-negotiable standards for colour accuracy, consistency, and compliance are paramount.
Shankhya Debnath, HoD & Lecturer, Department of Printing Technology, RIPT, Kolkata said, The course is designed to be demonstration-oriented and practice-focused.
He shared with PrintWeek that the STTP will cover a curriculum including: Colorimetry and Spectrophotometry (Concepts of CIE colour spaces and measurement conditions); ICC Colour Management (Architecture, device calibration, and characterisation; Process Control (Software-based methods, understanding Tone Value Increase, gray balance, and delta tolerances) and International Standards (An introduction to key print standards such as ISO 3664, ISO 13655, the ISO 12647 series, ISO/PAS 15339 CRPCs, and ISO 20654).
The programme is aimed at print production managers, quality assurance professionals in the print, ink & coating, and graphic media industry, as well as researchers, academicians, and students specialising in printing technology.
With a limited capacity of 20 seats, interested participants are advised to register quickly.
