Beyond its world-class printing and binding capability, Manipal’s samples have a X-factor — presentation. There is a tactile feel to the samples, something new and special to invite readers to pick up the books and open the pages.

Onyx Storm for Hachette (7,500 copies) is a regular trade paperback, except it comes with silver foil and edge colouring, giving it a premium look. Special features include gloss silver foiling and metPET jacket.

The highlight of Curious Coffins for Chronicle Books (5,000 copies), alongside the use of matte lamination, spot UV and debossing, is how the post-press embellishments enhance the design, making the book a curated object.

The highlight of The Limca Book of Records for Hachette is the square back hardcover plus MetPET lamination. 5,000 copies were printed.

The Hachette Book of Indian Detective Fiction (2,000 copies) comprises two hardcover books in a unique slipcase. What impressed the jury the most was how the slipcase was designed and executed.
