Om Vir aims for cautious optimism and steady growth

With 2025 behind them, Om Vir Print O Pack is entering 2026 with guarded optimism. Viren Shah of the company believes the broader economic narrative around India’s growth remains positive and expects that sentiment to translate into machinery demand over the course of the year.

“Considering our Prime Minister’s vision, we expect India to grow. We are expecting a good market for machinery sales and an overall improvement in India’s financial position,” Shah said

From a buyer's perspective, demand is growing, though seasonal factors constrain it. “The market is growing, not very fast, but it is growing. In our segment, sales slow down around Diwali, and there are also restrictions around the financial year ending,” he added.

Despite these pauses, Shah described the overall market sentiment as healthy.

Within Om Vir Print O Pack’s product portfolio, rigid box-making machinery is seeing increased traction. “Nowadays, rigid boxes are a growing market. Other products are more or less common, but rigid boxes are growing in demand,” Shah said.

On automation and artificial intelligence, Shah said Om Vir is exploring but is not planned directly within the company’s machinery portfolio. “We are planning to implement some AI-related features, but the biggest problem, not only in India but globally, is that AI will reduce manpower. That will be the biggest crisis,” he added.

Looking ahead five years, Shah identified unstructured competition from imports as a major risk to the industry. “People are importing machines without knowing the ABCD of the machine. That is very disappointing and will create many problems. When we sell machines, we know we have to support service and everything.”
