Newspaper majors to speak at Vibes Academy seminar

Vibes Academy will conduct one-day seminar titled Judicious Judgement at the JP Hotel, Koyambedu, Chennai on 17 June 2016.

The seminar will have speakers from the newspaper industry who are working for companies like The Hindu, The New Indian Express Group, Mathrubhumi and Wijeya in Sri Lanka.

The seminar will consist of six segments with each segment trying to address various aspects of decision making in the newspaper industry. The seminar will touch upon topics such as press selection methodology, press structure optimisation and the pre-press.
 
R P Laksmivenkatraman of The Hindu will speak on Prepress - the seed for quality, whereas Manish Kumar, manager, human resources at Mathrubhumi, Kozhikode will share his expertise on human resource development titled Here is my person!.
 
Additionally, V Janakarathnakumara, AGM and chief officer of operations at Wijeya will speak on the topic Lay it out right! highlighting ideal press structure plans to ensure optimisation of critical resources. The seminar will also see chartered accountant V Margasahayam, partner, J Sivakumar, explaining in detail about the accounting and audit – A vibrant tool for yields and gaps.
 
Print consultant K Krishnan and media consultant J Menon would look to educate the audience on press selection processes, future of newspaper and its competitiveness, respectively.
 
Vibes Academy has been organising seminars for the newspaper and commercial printers with subjects like utility management, managing newsprint, ink and water, maximising profit through colours, and best management practises among others.
 
This seminar, according to the organisers, is aimed to be an ideal platform for the participants to meet and interact industry stalwarts and choose best among options for their publication.

Targeted at senior pre-press and press professionals, the seminar solicits a participation fee of Rs 4500 per participant.
